Progress Gym opened its doors for the first time on the 10th of December 2010. The driving force behind Progress is a will to create a facility and environment where anyone and everyone can reach their health and physique goals. To this end the Progress Team, equipment and facilities have been chosen to give the best possible experience to our Members.
Progress Gym is owned by competitive natural bodybuilder Rob Harris. Having graduated with a BSc and subsequently a MSc Rob found work initially in Orlando, Florida. Further work followed in a number of gyms both in the UK and the US. Whilst working in other gyms Rob witnessed the components which are required to establish and maintain a successful facility. Not only is Progress full of high quality weight training equipment but it also holds a fully stocked cardiovascular area with 12 different types of equipment.
Today Progress continues from strength to strength, the membership base has grown along with the list of services provided. Personal Training, Health Checks and a wide range of classes are now all available onsite. Add these to the whole foods, supplements and clothing, and you have everything you need to be healthy, feel good and look great.
Progress moved location in April 2015 to a new site which is 50% larger than the original. The move meant more space and more equipment! Just when you thought Progress couldn’t get any better, it did. Improvements to external lighting and our under-cover external strength training area keep Progress moving forward and in line with our aim to set the standard for gyms in the South West.

April 2020 saw the completion of the new mezzanine in Progress Gym, which gave us an open functional space. Offering extra space, room to move and mobilise – giving our Members even more opportunity to Progress!
